SEASON WRAP-UP NOTES FROM BOB…
This Week is the Last Week (unless you’ve signed up for a winter share; postcards confirming winter share 2008 status and 2009 share status were sent out last week!

Thanks for being a 2008 shareholder. We hope you have enjoyed your vegetables.
We are excited and looking forward to next season & hope you will join us again.

• The 20 & 12 week seasons end with this week’s box (on Oct. 29, 30, or Nov 1).
• If you didn’t sign up for a winter share: please return your final box after the last delivery--we’ll pick it up in a week. For those who signed up for a winter share (see postcard confirm mailed last week) here’s how things will work:
•Starting with next week, we will be delivering 4 boxes over the course of  5 weeks (Thanksgiving is the week we don’t deliver)
•Delivery sites, day of the week, and times will be the same
•As temperatures fall your vegetables may freeze--prompt pickup is even more critical
•More details will be on the recently mailed postcard

Host Appreciation Week
You may wish to thank your host for all that they have done this year to support our CSA. Their honorarium is modest. Their generosity, however, is grand: their willingness to receive the boxes, receive you shareholders, and donate a space of their porches, garages, or businesses for the course of 25 weeks is greatly appreciated. Thanks from the farm!

FamilyFarmed EXPO Coupon Enclosed in Box
As a special bonus in this week's box, we have enclosed a paper bag that includes two postcards with info and a coupon for the FamilyFarmed EXPO which is taking place November 21-23 at the Chicago Cultural Center. It is the Midwest's largest local food event with over 100 booths featuring family farms, artisan food producers, and advocates for local and organic agriculture. The Angelic Organics Learning Center will have a booth and be selling farm-made soaps just in time for the holidays. The EXPO also has workshops with dozens of top national and regional speakers including farmer/philosopher Fred Kirschenmann, MacArthur fellow Will Allen, and our very own Tom Spaulding. The full program is available online at www.FamilyFarmed.org. Please pass the extra card on to a friend!

It is updated but not all the boxes packed for your delivery day will be exactly the same, although it is likely that all the boxes at your dropsite will be the same. Some things may be in your box that are not listed, and some listed things may not be in your box. As always, be sure to thoroughly wash all of your vegetables.
